Ibernex in the Board of Manufacturers, Exporters and PYMES’ sector of FENIN

On May 18, Ibernex Ingeniería, company belonging to Pikolin Group, was present at the Board of Manufacturers, Exporters and PYMES’ sector of FENIN.

The meeting was held in the head office of Fenin in Madrid, and counted with the presence of General Director of International Trade and Investment, Mr. José Luis Káiser, and Mrs. Mª Teresa Ramos Gorostiza, Deputy General Director of Trade Policy of EU and International Trade of Industrial products, both representing the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.

Fenin, founded in 1977, is the business association that represents in Spain the distribution factories of products, equipments and Services of Sanitary Technology. It was born with the mission of bringing the Spanish companies of this sector, to coordinate and to defend its general interests and hold its representation at the regional, national and European authorities.

The Sector of Manufacturers and Exporters, of which Ibernex is part, was set up in 2003, and its main objective is the defense of the interests of the manufacturers, nationally and internationally. In 2015, joined the PYMES sector.

The sector focuses on the promotion of the relations with national and regional officers, the exterior promotion with associations, as well as with the Ministry of Economy, Treasury, Industry, Trade and Tourism, Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

The purpose of the meeting is to know more about the strategy of internationalization of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, its industrial policy regard to the sanitary sector and the support strategy to the Pymes.

The Meeting began with the speech of Mr. José Luis Káiser, who reported the fundamental task of the General Director of Trade and Investments: The negotiation of the trade agreements and the elimination or reduction of the trade barriers, as tariff or not tariff on third markets.

They also took the strategic plan of internationalization and to implement and evaluate the measures of this plan to make them the most effective possible facing the internationalization of enterprises. This strategy will be developed for the next 10 years.

From the general subdirectorate trade agreements are being negotiated, opening up markets so companies can easily access to those markets:

  • American Continent: Ratification and approval phase.
  • Canada: It’s expected to be approved at the end of 2017.
  • USA: Negotiation of TTIP.
  • Mexico: This agreement will be signed at the end of 2017 or 2018 first.
  • MERCOSUR: This agreement will be signed at the end of 2017 or 2018 first.
  • Study of agreement for the modernization of the agreement with Chile; modern elements want to be introduced.
  • Africa: Agreements with South Africa, Morocco and Tunisia.
  • Turkey: It is negotiating the renewal and expansion and extension of the customs union.
  • Asian continent, the agreement at this moment more advanced is Japan. Possibly on this year must be completed.
  • Negotiation with Australia and New Zealand.
  • China: is negotiating an agreement on investment, the Chinese authorities want to negotiate a free trade agreement but the community authorities first want to ensure an equal access into investments with China.
  • Vietnam and Singapore, agreements already signed.

At the same time, has been created a working group within the Directorate General for authorizations and necessary records. Thank to that, it is possible to identify the access barriers.
