NACODEAL is a European project funded by the Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme (AAL JP) under the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade as well as funds from the European Commission budget, which aims to improve the quality of life of people older and strengthen the industrial base in Europe through the use of Information Technology and Communication (ICT).

The NACODEAL project aims to provide new solutions to the problems that older people when dealing with new technologies in their daily tasks or to try to keep them involved in society today using the same face.

These solutions will be provided through Augmented Reality technologies with a portable device that will project information by providing instructions on how to proceed in the various activities of daily living. This device will allow seniors with memory disorders, to live an independent life, and thanks to its intuitive interface will allow them to easily access the digital world. Furthermore, the device will screen in augmented reality in the rooms where the user moves, the different directions that can help them with their tasks.

In recent years there have been many efforts trying to introduce older people in the new technologies, promoting their use for online shopping, or telephone, or television … services and devices for those who do not feel natives. This project tries to find a new way to introduce them to the virtual communities in a more natural way, creating a product that will feel secure and easy to use and understand, with much more functionality in support of daily living, which could revolutionize the market as we know it.
